Yahoo! To Bring Latin Grammy™ Experience to the World

Edited by Joshua Smith - June 19th, 2001

Yahoo! Inc. today announced that it has joined forces with the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (LARAS) to host the online experience for the 2nd Annual Latin Grammy™ Awards. As part of the relationship, Yahoo! is hosting a special site (http://latingrammy.yahoo.com) to give fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the event. The site kicks off with a series of video clips from this year's official Grammy nomination ceremony and contains the latest news on the music and entertainment surrounding the event.

Touting the strength of their immensely popular userbase, Yahoo is promising music fans worldwide virtual VIP access to the Awards, complete with nominee video clips, video clips of special moments from last year's Latin Grammy Awards Show, celebrity chats and exclusive highlights from LARAS' 2001 Person of the Year tribute honoring Julio Iglesias. All content provided on the special site is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

"Yahoo! has the largest and most engaged Internet audience in the world, and we are committed to continuously bringing fans a compelling online entertainment experience," said Jorge Consuegra, director of marketing, for Yahoo! en español.
