Film Australia CEO Reappointed

Ms Sharon Connolly was today reappointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Government-owned production and distribution company, Film Australia.

"I am delighted that Ms Connolly has agreed to continue in her role as CEO of Film Australia," Federal Minister for the Arts, Peter McGauran said.

"With her broad knowledge and experience within the Australian film community, as well as her proven managerial ability, I am confident that Ms Connolly will continue to provide strong leadership to Film Australia."

Ms Connolly has had a dedicated involvement in the film industry for over 15 years, and has held the position of CEO of Film Australia since 1997. She has also worked as a producer, director and script editor.

She has also been a Board Member of Film Victoria and on the council of the Screen Producers Association of Australia.

"Film Australia provides invaluable support to Australian documentary makers through its internationally recognised production and distribution activities, its valuable archives and the provision of its facilities to the film making community," Mr McGauran said.

Film Australia's mission is to record Australian life through the commissioning, distribution and management of documentaries, which illustrate and interpret aspects of Australian society.
