As the initial shock of the immense catastrophe begins to subside, concern has been expressed for the friends and families of those who may have been involved in the tragedy and may be as yet unaccounted for. As such, we have collated a series of contacts, hotlines and information sources below in an attempt to provide concerned parties with the resources they need to chase up further details regarding the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington DC.

Websites:

IFCC FBI.gov - This resource has been established by the FBI in an attempt to collect any leads from individuals who have information surrounding the events and those responsible.
American Airlines - Features statements from one of the unfortunate airlines that fell victim to the cowardly hijackers.
United Airlines - Features statements from the second airline that had two of its aircraft used as tools of offence against US civilians.
Australian Department of Defence - News and information as it arises. With a particular emphasis on Australia's involvement in the incident and the retaliatory plans.
Prime Minister of Australia: John Howard - Speeches and statements made by our honourable leader, who was situated less than a kilometre from the Pentagon at the time of its attack.
The White House - Features press releases and information issued by the US President, George W Bush.
The American Red Cross - Blood is needed urgently. Please give so that others may live!

US-Based Hotlines:

800 331 0075 - Office of the Victims of Crime. Catered to those who are seeking further details regarding the New York incident.
718 677 8238 - This is a police info line based in New York City that will provide information to concerned family members as it arises.
1 866 483 5137 - This toll-free number aims to connect those who have information about the crimes and/or the organisers of such with the FBI in order to refine their ongoing investigations.
800 HELP NOW - This hotline has been established by the American Red Cross to collect funds to assist in the rescue and recovery effort. If you'd like to donate money, this is the number to call.
1800 SAL ARMY - Financial contributions to the Salvation Army may be pledged by contacting this number.
718 999 2541 - With some 300 New York firefighters considered missing in action, this line has been established to assist families of firefighters in their attempts to check the status of their loved ones.
1800 245 0999 - American Airlines' info line. Two of the downed aircraft were AA jets.
1800 932 8555 - United Airlines' info line. Similarly, two of the downed aircraft were UA passenger jets.
1800 984 8523 - The Pentagon Army hotline. Established to serve the friends and relatives of those who worked within Corridor 4 and its surrounding offices at the Pentagon.
1800 GIVELIFE - The American Red Cross has issued an urgent call for blood with which to treat the survivors. This is their hotline.
1 518 431 7600 - Medical services may be volunteered through this line.
1 800 801 8092 - General services may be volunteered through this line.

Australian-Based Hotlines:

131 495 - A hotline established for those who wish to donate blood to help ease the burden of American resources. This service will let you know where is the closest blood bank to you.
1300 555 135 - Australian Foreign Affairs hotline.
1800 002 214 - General Australian emergency hotline to serve those whose family members or friends may have been affected by the disaster.
1800 812 028 - Red Cross appeal line.
1800 205 000 - Red Cross support and information line for the families of those affected.

Canadian-Based Hotlines

1 888 2DONATE - Contact line for the Canadian Blood Services. Please donate blood to reduce the burden upon America's limited resources.

Other Fund-Collection Facilities

Donations may be made by Australians to the UFU Fallen Firefighter Fund in the support of those who have given their lives or been injured bravely fighting to rescue survivors from the burning wreckage of the twin towers.
